Skillet Spider and Web Cookies

You’ll Need

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable or canola oil
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Prep and Cook

  • Beat all of the ingredients except the powdered sugar in a medium bowl with a hand mixer or whisk until smooth. Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle or piping bag with a narrow opening.
  • Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and grease lightly. Working quickly, squeeze the batter to form four straight lines that intersect in the centre, like a star. To form the cobweb, squeeze thin streams of batter to connect the lines. To make the spider, squeeze two circles, one on top of the other, and draw four thin legs on each side and two small eyes.
  • Cook for 30 seconds or until set and flip over carefully. Cook for another 30 seconds and remove from skillet transferring to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F. Bake the cookies for 5–7 minutes or until almost crisp. Remove and allow to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and store in an airtight container.
